Happy Woman Cleaning Floor With Mop In Kitchen At Home

It doesn’t matter what kind of flooring you have in your kitchen. Whether it’s vinyl, tile, laminate, or others, your kitchen floor is going to be dirty. It is to be expected because this is where you cook, so naturally, there will be spills – oils, sauces, juices, and more. You may get frustrated when you see your messy floor, but you should know that cleaning your kitchen floor is actually simpler than your probably think it is. Of course, the cleaning process would vary depending on the actual flooring type.

Here are some tips on how you can clean different types of kitchen floors:

VINYL FLOORS

Vinyl is among the top choices for kitchen flooring materials. There are many reasons why, including the fact that it is water-resistant so homeowners need not worry too much about leaks and spills. Vinyl is also highly durable so it resists scuffs, dents, and stains, too. That doesn’t mean it won’t get dirty. For vinyl floors, you just have to sweep or vacuum to ensure there’s no debris. Mop the floors with warm water with vinegar. Remove stubborn spots with a soft towel dipped in water and dish soap solution. Dry it all off with a towel.

LAMINATE FLOORS

It’s a good choice if you want the appearance of hardwood but don’t want to worry about moisture damage. Appropriate cleaning is still needed to keep it durable and beautiful. Vacuum the floor thoroughly. Soak a soft cloth in water and vinegar solution, wring it, and wipe the floor with the damp cloth. Make sure that there are no standing fluids on laminate flooring!

CERAMIC TILE FLOORS

Ceramic tile is an excellent kitchen floor material because it’s very durable and very low-maintenance. To keep tile floors clean, you just need to rid the floor of any grit and debris by sweeping. Then, just dampen a clean cloth with warm water and a little dish soap. Use it to clean the floor. Wait until the floor is completely dry before you use the area again.

MARBLE FLOORS

While marble floors are durable, they are also susceptible to scratching. So a little extra care is needed when you clean your marble kitchen floor. Use a microfiber dust mop for your first step in cleaning. Avoid vacuuming as the vacuum cleaner’s wheels can scratch your marble floor. For stains and spills, wet the microfiber mop and use a pH neutral soap instead of your usual cleaning solution.

Remember that flooring type may be a factor, but what is more important is how well you keep your kitchen floor clean. Regular maintenance will ensure that whatever type of floor you have, it will last you for a really long time.
